The Silkworm Robert Galbraith

A compulsively readable crime novel with twists at every turn, The Silkworm is the second in the highly acclaimed series featuring Cormoran Strike and his determined young assistant Robin Ellacott.
When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, she just thinks he has gone off by himself for a few days – as he has done before – and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home.
But as Strike investigates, it becomes clear that there is more to Quine’s disappearance than his wife realises. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows. If the novel were published it would ruin lives – so there are a lot of people who might want to silence him.
And when Quine is found brutally murdered in bizarre circumstances, it becomes a race against time to understand the motivation of a ruthless killer, a killer unlike any he has encountered before…

This is second on the series,I actually liked the first one a bit better. This book was again, a tad too long with some random details that I didn't see to necessary. It wasn't bad, just a bit dull at times but I still like the main characters and the whole mystery plot line. I give it a C.

Me before You Jojo Moyes

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than her tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and he is not interested in exploring a new one.
Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, Lou sets out to show him that life is still worth living.
Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

I read this book so quickly while on vacation, hard to put down and such a beautiful story. I had heard all the amazing reviews but I didn't know exactly what I would be reading and that is how I like it. This book definitely made me think about what I would do in Will's situation. The love part was a bit too cheesy but it did make me tear up at the raw parts. I am excited to read more of Jojo's work! I give it an A.

  1. I didn't like Silkworm as much as I did the cukoo's calling. There were a lot of time that it was just boring.

  2. I haven't read any of the Robert Galbraith mysteries yet, but now that I've read 'The Casual Vacancy' and liked it, I'm looking forward to them.
