I made this for my sister-to-be K (and brother B...) as her wedding shower present.

I played off the original idea that I found but I added more details to mine: fun paper in the background, initials in the states, the little phrases next to each state.

I did this all by hand, yes, even the cutting out of each state! I was lucky enough to find the 14x20 white picture frame at Target and the two pieces of gray chevron paper at Archivers. I printed out the state pictures from google images on my own paper :)

I love this gift because it can be made for many varied occasions and it is truly simple to create. A one-of-a-kind piece of art for someone/some couple/some family.
I was so excited to give this to K yesterday at the wedding shower my sisters and I threw in her honor. She LOVED it!

  1. Wow what a cute idea! With so many of my friends getting married soon, I may have to borrow this idea ;)

  2. This is such a thoughtful gift idea! I love it and I'll have to keep this in mind.

  3. I saw something like this on Pinterest, but I love your idea better. I think I may try this out for a wedding gift as well.
