Again, I only read one book this week. Seriously this week flew by for some reason.
Here it is, Angel Fire by Lisa Miscione.
A couple months ago I discovered that one of my favorite suspense/thriller/mystery authors, Lisa Unger, had written a few novels before she was married and therefore under her maiden name. I was thrilled with this because I love her writing/stories/characters/gripping and intense plots. I quickly added them to my "hold" pile at the library. This novel, Angel Fire is Lisa's first ever novel and it does not disappoint.

The childhood murder of Lydia Strong’s mother has turned her into a woman obsessed with bringing brutal killers to justice. The reclusive, bestselling true-crime writer and investigative consultant has made a life out of chasing monsters. And her powerful intuitions rarely fail her.
When three adults—loners, drifters—go missing, no one seems to notice except for Lydia. Enlisting the help of her friend, former FBI agent Jeffrey Mark, Lydia starts an investigation of her own. But when someone raises the stakes and goes after Lydia—just as fifteen years ago when she put the FBI on the trail of her mother’s killer—the real hunt begins.

A true mystery that had me on the edge of my seat (and at times is a little more gory in the details than I am used to). The character of Lydia is so real and emotional and I just want to reach out and hug her. This mystery also reminded me of a mix between the tv shows: criminal minds and unforgettable. I love the dynamic between Lydia and Jeffery and it is a must-read. I give it a solid A.

That sounds like a great read! I love mystery shows, but haven't read a lot of mystery books. I'll have to give one a try.
